Car Brakes

The braking system in a vehicle is integral to its safe operation on the roads. It functions via a complex combination of separate brake parts, from cables to callipers and brake pads to brake discs – regular maintenance is crucial. Typical vehicle operation puts brakes through more heavy use than most other parts, so it is inevitable that they experience wear and tear through the miles, whatever the road surfaces. Brake fluid, which runs through the pipes from the pedals to the wheels, doesn’t last forever and sometimes needs refreshing.

Brake pads, which are pressed together to create friction to stop the wheels when the hydraulic brakes are applied, become worn and sometimes need replacing. Brake parts, in general, are subject to intense pressures, so it is dangerous to continue driving with damaged components. If the brakes fail, the whole car fails with potentially disastrous consequences.
